The Amarillo Lightning Soccer School of Excellence is designed to develop the technique and confident mindset of each individual player at a very young age. Our curriculum has a six-part component comprised of the following:
- Ball Mastery/Relationship: emphasis on each player working independently with the ball using both feet. Repetition is the key here.
- Receiving and Passing: exercises which improve a player’s first touch upon receiving the ball and increase range, accuracy and creativity of passing.
- Moves (1 vs 1): exercises which teach and in turn positively habit form the ability to beat an opponent while in possession of the ball.
- Speed, Agility and Coordination: exercises with and without the ball to develop the ability to change direction, speed and body angle to effectively influence individual player development.
- Finishing: game play and exercises that teach techniques for finishing as well as nurturing instinctive play.
- Group Play: games and exercises that improve small-group combination play.
